Lalakhal is somewhat unfamiliar to the tourist but undoubtedly an delighted place of interest. “Sharighat” on the way to Jaintapur and Jaflong. It takes about 1 hour from Sylhet to Sharighat. One can hire engine boat to go to Lalakhal from Sharighat. This boat journey of Lalakhal is through the Shari river. The water in this river is very clear and color is blue. This river is shared with India. The origin of this river is in the Meghalaya state of India. Keane Bridge

The Keane Bridge is a notable landmark of Sylhet city. Hanging over on the river of surma is a bridge, made of iron and steel looked like a bow is gateway of sylhet. This is popularly known as Surma Baridge. This iron bridge was built in the year 1936 over the river Surma and was named after the British governor of Assam of the time, Sir Micheal Keane (1937-1874). The bridge is 1150 feet lengths and 18 feet breadth. It is a steel tie up bridge and such bridges are one of the oldest types of modern bridges.  About Taka 56 lac had been spent to built the bridge. During the liberation war in 1971, a portion of the bridge was blown off by dynamite. After the war, the bridge was repaired and opened for light vehicles. Bangladesh Railway repaired the bridge with concrete metals in 1977.

It is still a star attraction for the tourist.

Ali Amzad watch

Standing over the keane bridge, if anybody peers down will catch the sight of Ali Amzad clock. It is said that, Ali Amzad , Zamidar of Pritrimpasa was invited to see Delhi and thereby charmed by the clock made with the instigation of the princess of Delhi. He also craved to build the same and ultimately made it with the similar design & pattern. It's now called Ali Amzad watch, located at Chadnighat, Sylhet. At far sight, one can easily guess it as a church, because of its structure. I find the architecture of it is also interesting  Tower is standing one an octagonal base, clock chamber is rectangular and lastly the crest of tower is a triangular pyramid. Unlike other two dials this is not a part of a big building, it is build only to be a clock tower, and this is the best distinctive feature of this clock tower with others of Bangladesh. The clock is now active after a long time break. District Council of Sylhet maintains and provide mechanical support, these days.
this clock is unique and notable attraction to tourist.
